THE 2nd ENSENADA-SAN DIEGO ASTROPHYSICAL SOCIETY MEETING

The ESDAS Meetings have a strong educational focus. As such, the meetings are geared toward research students, including advanced undergraduates currently involved in research projects, graduate students (M.Sc. and Ph.D. levels), and early-career postdoctoral scholars. 

The objectives of this meeting are to provide participants with opportunities to:

1. Practice writing and submitting an abstract summarizing their research project for a scientific meeting.

2. Develop skills in oral communication by giving a scientific talk and asking/answering questions. 

3. Engage in scientific discussion and the exchange of knowledge with their peers and faculty members. 

4. Develop scientific collaborations and strengthen the scientific community across the US–Mexico border.

Participants are encouraged to submit an abstract of their research project for a contributed talk. 

All contributed talks will have the same duration, which will be determined based on the number of talks. Speakers will be provided with a certificate of attendance.

There is no registration fee for the ESDAS Meeting. All participants will be provided with complimentary lunch and snacks during the two days of the event. 

In addition, the program includes an optional, fully funded trip to the OAN-SPM observatory located in San Pedro Mártir National Park on September 19–20. Given the observatory's limited hosting capacity, trip participants will be selected on a first-come, first-served basis (see the Registration section for details).
