ACCOMMODATION
Ensenada is a tourist city with many hotel/B&B options. September is high season, so it is advisable to book as early as possible. Booking.com and Airbnb list many available accommodations.
AREA
Ensenada is a popular gastronomic destination offering a wide range of dining options, including several Michelin-recognized establishments (some of which are very affordable), as well as coffee shops, taco stands, craft breweries, and other eateries. Note that tipping in Mexico is optional and it is illegal to include it as a default charge on your bill.
In the tourist and downtown areas, many places have English-speaking staff. Cash and credit/debit cards are widely accepted. Some shops accept US dollars, but they may use their own exchange rates.
Downtown is walkable. Public transportation is available, but it is unreliable and has unclear routes and timetables. It is advisable to use Uber or DiDi, which are affordable and reliable options.
